How do the visuals link to the song?

Bruno Mars' pop celebrity image is promoted in his music video through media language. For example the costumes show that he is rich and important, he is seen wearing fashionable, bright clothing that connotes that he is the most important person in the video, with all the others wearing black, grey, and white. This suggests that he is a celebrity and the lead singer in the music video. Also, an expensive-looking car is seen, connoting that he is rich and fashionable.

The high-key lighting is used to show that this is an upbeat and lighthearted video and song, it is also used to make the subject look better than he actually does, showing as much detail as possible. The use of bright colours suggests the same thing, that this is upbeat and lighthearted, meant to reflect the song.

The use of performance and dancing makes Bruno Mars seem youthful and stylish, and the band performing at a club also suggests this. This promotes his pop star image, making him seem youthful upbeat.

The setting is also used to infer this, with it being set in the 80's and 90's, on a random street in an urbanised area, this is used to make the video seem retro and stylish, thus promoting his image.
