Connotations:
- They are in a school (lockers, school uniform, etc.)
- Pop genre
- Targeted to young males and females
High Key lighting:
- Limits shadows (no harsh shadows)
- Shapes the face of the subjects
- Very forgiving (makes people look good)
- Done by one bright light
- Its goal is to show as much detail on the subject as possible
- Lights up the whole face
- Quick and easy to set up
- Usually suggests a lighthearted show or film
- Low lighting ratio, 2:1
Low Key lighting:
- Opposite to High Key
- High contrast, dark tones very dark, light tones very light
- Mysterious, dramatic and intense moods and emotions
- Often used in action or drama-based series
- Higher lighting ratio, 8:1
- Used in intense or dramatic scenes
